The Willow Project will devastate the Arctic ecosystem. Visit these links to take action and read below to learn the facts:

The Biden Administration's final decision on ConocoPhillips' Willow Project is rapidly approaching. If authorized by Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland on March 6, the Willow Project, which is the largest oil extraction proposal ever put forth on federal lands, would be given the green light. However, fossil fuel extraction in the Arctic has become more complicated and costly due to climate change, which has caused permafrost to melt. To extract oil, ConocoPhillips plans to refreeze the tundra using "chillers" before drilling. The Willow Project would release emissions equal to 76 new coal-fired power plants in one year, extracting 500 million barrels of petroleum.

Willow Project would add to an already disastrous global climate system.

The Willow Project will devastate the Arctic ecosystem. It requires new infrastructure, such as bridges and roads, which will fragment habitats and harm wildlife before any oil has been extracted. Additionally, the pollutants emitted by the Willow Project pose a serious threat to public health and safety, with emissions from methane leaking from production equipment and trucks transporting materials to oil wells causing serious respiratory, cardiovascular, and kidney problems. Respiratory illnesses in Nuiqsut, a village in the region, have increased by nearly 20% as oil wells have been constructed, with children falling seriously ill as oil wells sit right behind their schools.
